Home to 4,000 residents, Columbia is located in south-eastern Kentucky within Adair County. A historic city, Columbia features a quaint downtown home to local landmark, the Adair County Courthouse. Central Columbia also hosts Downtown Days, a two-day event featuring a parade, beauty pageant, carnival, and the anticipated reenactment of the James/Younger Bank of Columbia robbery.
Columbia is set just south of Green River Lake State Park and the city of Campbellsville. Opened in 1969, park covers 1,331 acres, includes the 8,200-acre Green Lake, and features fishing, swimming, hiking trails, and boating. Other Columbia attractions include the Lindsey Wilson Begley Chapel, and the Lucretia Begley Art Gallery on the Lindsey Wilson College campus – the art exhibits of which are open to the public.
