Wild Turkey Distillery
Chances are, when people think of fine Kentucky bourbon, one of the names that comes to mind, involves a turkey. The Wild Turkey Distillery has been producing fine bourbon since 1869, when the Ripy brothers built a distillery on Wild Turkey Hill. In 1893, the bourbon was chosen to represent the state of Kentucky at the World's Fair. The distillery is a member of the American Whiskey Trail, as well as the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, with the six other distilleries in the Kentucky bourbon industry.
The distillery produces Wild Turkey 81, Wild Turkey 86.8, Wild Turkey 101, Wild Turkey 8, Wild Turkey 12, Wild Turkey American Honey, Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, Wild Turkey Straight Rye Whiskey and Russell's Reserve 10-Year-Old. While in Eastern Kentucky, make a stop in Lawrenceburg to visit the distillery and witness the distilling process, during a free tour. Woodford Reserve Distillery
Visitors to the Bluegrass region looking for a unique way to see the countryside, can explore the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The trail is comprised of six distilleries to promote Kentucky's bourbon industry. The Versailles Woodford Reserve Distillery, located north of Lawrenceburg, is one of them. It has produced small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey since it was established in 1996. The distillery is located on the site of a historic distillery, built in 1838. It joined the list of the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 and in 2000, it was designated a National Historic Landmark.
The distinctive Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. For your next special event, consider having the event on the beautiful grounds of Woodford Reserve, in the 2,400 square foot Visitor Center. This unique setting is perfect for receptions, parties and meetings. Stop by the distillery to purchase a bottle of this fine Craft Bourbon and join in a distillery tour.
